What can you do while you stay at The Mahana? Start by visiting the Mahana Concierge who will be happy to arrange any number of activities for you, some at discounted prices. Maps for driving on this beautiful island are also available.
Activities in and around The Mahana are almost limitless. Swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, parasailing, and almost any water sport you can think of are available nearby. Tennis, hiking, helicopter tours, and bike tours provide additional diversions. Shopping and eating in Lahaina, the old whaling village which now anchors West Maui, can occupy a full day or two or more. And driving trips to the Haleakala Volcano, the Road to Hana, the artists villages at Paia or Makawao, to name but a few, can occupy you for days.

Scuba Diving in Hawaii’s warm, tropical waters is a treat. The variety of Hawaiian fish is astounding, and in many locations, huge sea turtles and other “critters” abound.
Once an old whaling village, Lahaina is the center of West Maui activities. With a multitude of activities, restaurants, a vibrant art gallery scene, Lahaina is diverse and interesting enough to spend at least a couple of days.
The Feast at Lele: Although technically not a luau, this is one of the foremost eating and entertainment attractions on Maui. Ocean side seating, great entertainment, and exotic food from multiple Polynesian islands makes this one of our favorite places on Maui:
Old Lahaina Luau: considered by many to be the best in all of Hawaii (I’ve only been four times in less than two years. It is one of the best introductions to Hawaii that I can think of, the food is good, and the entertainment is superb). ![]()
